Service Integration and Management (SIAM) is a set of management best practices applicable in any environment where business services are delivered by multiple service providers. SIAMĀ® evolved as organizations shifted from complete outsourcing to a single supplier to environments with multiple service providers. It addresses the integration challenges associated with these forms of multi-sourcing, ensuring your client organization receives maximum value from its service providers.
Target audience
This training is aimed at professionals interested in the best practices of Service Integration and Management and/or those looking to implement this methodology within their organization. It is particularly suited for professionals already familiar with IT Service Management processes. Additionally, this certification is intended for service providers who want to offer and deliver Service Integration and Management.
Outcomes
After completing this training, you will be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts and principles of SIAM.
- Describe the different SIAM structures for the service integrator layer.
- Identify the phases of the SIAM implementation roadmap and explain the key objectives and activities of each phase.
- Define the various SIAM roles and their responsibilities.
- Explain the different practices of SIAM.
- Understand the objectives and considerations of the main processes in a SIAM ecosystem.
- Recognize the key challenges, associated risks, and possible mitigating measures in a SIAM ecosystem.
- Explain the added value of other best practices for SIAM.
Methodology
The training features an interactive approach, alternating between theory, discussion, practical cases, assignments, and exam questions. All participants are encouraged to actively engage in practical sessions to maximize their learning. This prepares trainees optimally for the official SIAM Foundation exam and allows them to immediately apply their knowledge in practice.
Prerequisites
There are no formal educational requirements. Some experience with Service Management and IT Outsourcing is recommended. The training is conducted at a higher vocational education (HBO) level.
Materials
Participants receive presentations, practical assignments, exercises, a sample exam, and a glossary. The mandatory study material includes the SIAM Body of Knowledge (English version).
Duration
The course consists of 2 training days from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The exam is scheduled separately.
Exam
The training prepares you for the official SIAM Foundation exam by EXIN International. The exam is closed-book and consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. You need a minimum of 26 correct answers (65%) to pass. The exam lasts 60 minutes and can be taken on paper or online. The exam is conducted in English.
Certification
Upon passing the exam, you will receive the SIAM Foundation certificate from EXIN. With this certificate, you can pursue the advanced SIAM Professional training. The training and examination are conducted by an EXIN-accredited trainer.
