Sourcing Governance Training: How to optimize your outsourcing governance

The current trend of outsourcing IT services has altered the management context within which IT services are delivered to the business at the best cost and conditions. Experience shows that effective governance (Demand Supply Governance) is only possible if the involved staff are well-versed in the key principles and concepts of outsourcing and governance. To build a truly successful client-supplier relationship, this knowledge is necessary both within the business organization and the IT service provider(s).

Follon & Partners offers the Sourcing Governance Foundation (SGF) training, also known as Certified Outsourcing Specialist (COS), in collaboration with Suerte Academy.

Target audience

This training is intended for professionals who play a role on the client or supplier side within the governance function of (outsourced) IT services.

Outcomes

After completing this training, you will be able to:

  • Recognize and understand the key concepts of outsourcing and governance;

  • Know the terminology and definitions related to outsourcing and governance.

Methodology

The training features an interactive approach, alternating between theory, discussion, case study assignments, and exam questions. All participants are encouraged to actively participate in the practical sessions to gain as much as possible from the training. This prepares the participants optimally for the official SGF exam and allows them to apply the acquired knowledge directly in practice.

Prerequisites

There are no educational prerequisites. Some experience with the development and/or management of information systems is desirable.

Materials

Participants receive a comprehensive training binder with presentations, practical assignments, the case study, a sample exam, and a glossary. Participants will also receive the mandatory study materials: ‘Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge’ and ‘The Balancing Act of Demand Supply Governance’ by IAOP.

Duration

The training lasts for 3 days (the first two consecutively and the third day after an interval of one or two weeks). The exam is administered on the afternoon of the last day.

Exam

The training prepares you for the official Sourcing Governance Foundation exam by APMG International. The exam is closed-book and consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. To pass, 70% (28) of the questions must be answered correctly. The exam lasts 60 minutes and can be taken on paper or online.

Certificering

Je ontvangt van APMG International het officiële Sourcing Governance Foundation certificaat, plus 25 studiepunten voor de certificering als Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) van het IAOP. De certificering biedt hiermee de mogelijkheid om deel te nemen aan de COP Master Class.
